Project 5 Task 1

  • Blogs help students become better writers because they are easy to use and because of the context of news and editorial column writing.  Students write more, write in greater detail, and take greater care with mechanics, grammar and spelling when they are writing to an authentic audience on the internet.
  • A blog enables any student, at any age, to publish information on the internet.
  • Students can use blogging as a journalistic tool, a way to publish news, ideas, rants, announcements, and ponderings very quickly and without technical, editorial or time constraints.
  • As students blog they are better able to participate in collaborative learning via a forum.  Ideas can be exchanged, opinions can be discussed and comments are provided.
  • Blogging encourages students to respectfully share ideas with their peers. It is an effective way to get feedback and communicate in a group process.
