Duke Energy Trains at Cincinnati Museum Center
We saw the Duke Energy Train exhibit again this year, this time with Grammy and Grandpa. We learned an interesting fact this year: The exhibit stays up year round and they open up the gallery room/display during the holiday season. Seems to make a lot of sense given how long it would take to set it up year after year. This year we saw Santa and it was just by chance. I turned around and he was standing next to Grant, offering to give him a better look at the trains by picking him up. The look on Grant's face below was of pure wonder. It's the iconic holiday photo that brings all the holiday memories into focus.

Delhi Christmas Parade
The boys love a parade and with the above average temperatures, we decided to go to the annual Delhi Christmas Parade this year. Of course, the highlights were all of the many vehicles!

Potty Training
Well it's official...the boys are potty trained (mostly). We began on the day before Thanksgiving with the "3 day method", which was something that many of my friends found to be successful with their toddlers. The first day was exactly what you would expect...messy. However, subsequent days went better and better and by the third day, both boys were completely able to pee on the potty. Pooping was another story! By the fourth day, Grant conquered his fear of pooping on the potty and proceeded to poop an additional four times that same day (this is what happens when you don't poop for 2 and a half days). At this point I'd say he's trained. JT is still having poop accidents in his underwear. We've tried to up the rewards and that has been mildly successful. He now tells us when he has poop instead of running away from us. Baby steps...
Overall, we're just super thrilled with not having to spend $100 plus on diapers each month!!!

Fire Museum
A few weeks ago Peter purchased a Living Social deal for the Fire Museum downtown. We weren't sure what to expect but thought it probably wouldn't be a wasted purchase. So, we went today and it was fun. It's not a place we would go to often, probably only once a year. But the boys really enjoyed seeing the big fire engines. This will be a great place to go when they are older and able to understand the history of firefighting in Cincinnati.

Spooky Bath
Pinterest comes through with another good idea for the Schibi boys! Tonight we took a "Spooky Bath" which included throwing in a pack of glow sticks and turning out the lights. It was a HUGE hit!!! They didn't want to get out.

Science Experiment
Today in science class we did the "Marge's Hair" lab. From the pictures below, I think you can discover the reason it's given this title. Anyway, in this lab, students mix dish soap and water together and then add dry ice. The results are amazing, as you can see below. The whole experiment has to do with sublimation, or changing a solid into a gas while skipping the liquid phase.
We had some dry ice left over so I brought some home for the boys to experiment with and boy was it fun! They loved the smoke that came out of the bubbles and it took quite a bit of convincing for them to touch it because they thought it was hot. Good boys! Here's the awesome results:
