Christmas Day

It was a very Merry Christmas in the Schibi house!  We enjoyed beginning our morning with breakfast and time spent with Grammy and Grandpa.  We opened gifts and played with our toys.

Then the boys took a nap and we cleaned up a bit and got ready to go to Nana and Pappy's house for dinner and gifts.  We saw Meme and Bob Bob as well as the Burgess and Weisbach families.

Christmas Eve: A new tradition

We started a new tradition this year: A Christmas Eve gift that the boys get to open.  Inside was a new set of PJs, a Christmas movie (this year was one we already owned, The Polar Express), popcorn, and their Christmas ornament we buy them every year.  We had a Christmas Eve movie night just the four of us! It was so relaxing to spend time as a family (knowing that we usually have to run around like crazy on Christmas Day).  The boys loved this :)

Christmas Trees

Well Pinterest strikes again with this great idea, which was better (and easier) than a gingerbread house.  The boys really enjoyed making (and eating) these trees.

Festival of Lights

Amazingly, the weather was warm for December in Cincinnati, so along with everyone else in the city, we went to the Festival of Lights.  We enjoyed hot chocolate (for kids and adults ;) and the beautiful light displays. 

Visiting Santa

We took our annual trip to the downtown Macy's today to see Santa.  We just love the whole tradition we've established, making a day of our trip downtown.  We went with Aunt Ninnin, Uncle Dan, baby Cami, Grammy, and Grandpa.  The boys finally were comfortable with sitting on Santa's lap this year, which made for some great photos.  We also ate lunch at Ingredients at the Westin (part of our tradition) and walked around downtown looking at the lights on Fountain Square.

Children's Theatre

Today we went to see "Santa's Toy Factory" at the Children's Theatre.  We won these tickets at Clare's benefit.  We weren't sure how much the boys would enjoy a theater performance prior to this age, but this was the perfect opportunity to see how they would do.  They are also newly potty trained so we were a little nervous.  But, they did great and really enjoyed the show.

Making Christmas Ornaments

We made cinnamon ornaments this evening to give to friends and family.  I wasn't sure how the boys would like this as they aren't into arts and crafts, but they really had fun!
