Let that quote set the tone for this awesome news. The doctor's office called today to tell me that our little single embryo that was lagging behind the other two actually made it to the blastocyst stage and is now frozen! The nurse couldn't believe it and she told me if I would have asked about its chances last week she would have told me she was 99% sure it wouldn't survive. So how's that for a miracle??!! Pretty awesome news for the "perfect peas" that are growing in me right now, too!

My Timeline

2/21/2010-The peas have arrived! Grant Edward was born at 9:02 a.m. weighing 6 lbs. 8 oz. and 20 1/4 in. in length. James Thomas was born at 9:03 a.m. weighing 6 lbs. 1 oz. and 18 1/2 in. in length.
1/21/2010-33 week ultrasound. Both peas weigh 5 lbs. each. Pea A is now breech and Pea B is head down. C-section scheduled for February 23rd.
1/18/2010-33 week checkup-I'm measuring 39 cm. and still 1 cm. dilated. Heard the heartbeats again, which is such a sweet sound!
1/11/2010-32 week checkup-I'm measuring 37 cm. and am 1 cm. dilated, which is nothing unusual
1/4/2010-31 week checkup-I'm measuring 35 cm. so the weekly appointments begin!
12/21/2009-29 week ultrasound. Pea A weighs 2 lbs. 14 oz. and Pea B weighs 3 lbs. Pea A is vertex (head down) and Pea B is transverse
11/19/2009-24 week checkup and ultrasound. The boys each weigh 1 lb. 10 oz each and are still laying head to head and top to bottom.
10/22/2009-20 week checkup and ultrasound. It's official, we're having TWIN BOYS!! Both are measuring at 13 oz. and are developing healthy and typically!
9/17/2009-15 week checkup. We heard the heartbeats of our babies today-so amazing!
8/20/2009-11 week ultrasound and appointment. The peas will also be removed from the pod in a scheduled C-section no later than the last week of February.
7/30/2009-Ultrasound revealed two peas..we're having TWINS! Due 3/7/2010 but they will most likely make their debut sooner than that!
7/16/2009-Ultrasound revealed two sacs, one with a heartbeat. Next ultrasound will reveal how many we are expecting.
6/29/2009-Positive Beta registered at 300! We have our BFP, finally!
6/26/2009-symptoms of OHSS appear and worsen throughout the next few days
6/22/2009-Nurse called to inform us that our single embryo made it to blastocyst stage and is now frozen!!
6/17/2009-2 day transfer of 2 "perfect" 4 cell embryos. The 2ww begins...
6/16/2009-Fertilization Report-3 eggs fertilized and transfer is moved up to 6/17 at 1:00 p.m. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME?!?
6/15/2009-Retrieval Day; they were able to get 8 eggs
6/13/2009-Ovidrel shot at midnight tonight. Here we go...
6/11/2009-Ultrasound and bloodwork/checkup (AGAIN). There are now 10-12 well-developed follicles (see, I am going to lay a dozen eggs). Last Follistim injection tonight (YAY)!
6/8/2009-Ultrasound and blood work/checkup appointment. I have at least 8 follicles growing and everything is going well! Transfer will be no later than Monday 6/15. Will continue Follistim injections (fun, fun)!
6/4/2009-Started 225 units of the Follistim Injection. I'm ready to grow my ovaries to the size of a lime and then lay a dozen or so eggs!
5/30/2009-First ultrasound and bloodwork. Doctor said I could start my Follistim injections on Thursday 6/4 and everything is going as planned. We are cautiously optimistic!
5/24/2009-Last Birth Control Pill
5/18/2009-Began the very fun Lupron injections (10 units) which have provided lovely yet rampant mood swings and extreme fatigue (translation: I've been hit by a Mack Truck) Very fun for my husband (he's so patient, thank God).
5/4/2009-Began Birth Control Pills...I know, you're thinking this is counterproductive, but it's not!
4/23/2009-IVF consult where we decide to proceed and as an added bonus we walked away with $1,000 in Follistim injections. We see this as a sign...
2/2009-After 4 unsuccessful months of IUI, we throw in the towel and make an appointment to discuss IVF. I'm also not even modest anymore about who sees what!
10/2008-Referred to a fertility specialist (who is FABULOUS I may add) who put me on Femara with IUI
10/2008-Three unsuccessful months of Clomid led me to an HSG exam. This uncomfortable exam was normal. I had no idea what was in store for me...
7/2008-Panic mode sets in and we call the OBGYN for help
7/1/07-The TTC journey began-and we're still thinking this will be easy
7/15/06-The happiest day of my life-married my Mr. Right
